Experience

  • I have worked as a Behaviour Support Practitioner since 2025.
  • I describe my practice style as adaptive, collaborative, empowering, evidence-based, holistic, neurodiversity-affirming, person-centred, skill-building, social skills-focused and trauma-informed, tailoring my approach to meet each participant's unique needs.
  • In my free time, I like to spend time going to live music gigs, going to the theatre, learning new skills, meditating, playing board games, practicing mindfulness, reading, singing, travelling, trying new things, watching movies, watching TV Shows, with family or friends and with my dog which often helps me build rapport with participants.
  • My participants often describe me as approachable, calm, compassionate, confident, curious, dedicated, empathetic, encouraging, engaging, friendly, fun, inclusive, innovative, kind, knowledgeable, patient, positive, proactive, reliable, respectful, thoughtful, trustworthy and understanding, reflecting my commitment to creating a supportive environment.

What I like most about supporting people:

Witnessing the progress a participant makes over time and how proud they are when they achieve a goal. And further being able to utilise a mix of my skills, education, 9+ years of knowledge in the disability sector and lived experience, to assist to make a difference to the participants and their family's daily lives through assessments, ongoing support, mentoring and guidance.
Being able to empower people living with disabilities to achieve their goals and break down stigma in the community is a passion of mine.
I have always strived to further educate people in the community around inclusive practices and challenge their biases, this helps me to enable people living with disabilities to be afforded the same opportunities as those not living with a disability.
