Experience
- I have worked with people with disability since 2023.
- I describe my practice style as behaviour-focused, collaborative, culturally responsive, empowering, evidence-based, family-centred, functional, goal-oriented, holistic, neurodiversity-affirming, person-centred, play-based, skill-building and trauma-informed, tailoring my approach to meet each participant's unique needs.
- In my free time, I like to spend time staying fit, travelling, with family or friends and with my pet which often helps me build rapport with participants.
- My participants often describe me as engaging, friendly and goal-oriented, reflecting my commitment to creating a supportive environment.
What I like most about supporting people:
What I enjoy most about working in the disability sector as a PBS Practitioner is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with participants and their families while supporting them to achieve goals that are important to them. I value working collaboratively with participants, families, support networks, and multidisciplinary teams to develop strategies that improve quality of life and promote independence. It is incredibly rewarding to witness both the small day-to-day achievements and the significant milestones that participants reach over time. Seeing the positive impact these outcomes have on a person's confidence, wellbeing, relationships, and overall participation in their community makes this work both fulfilling and purposeful. The opportunity to empower others, celebrate their successes, and contribute to lasting positive change is what makes working in this field so rewarding.
