Experience
- I have worked with people with disability since 2023.
- I describe my practice style as collaborative, culturally responsive, empowering, evidence-based, goal-oriented, holistic, interactive, motivational, neurodiversity-affirming, person-centred, sensory-informed, skill-building, strengths-based and trauma-informed, tailoring my approach to meet each participant's unique needs.
- In my free time, I like to spend time cooking, gardening, going to live music gigs, going to the theatre, learning new skills, painting, reading, running, surfing, travelling, trying new things, with family or friends and with my cat which often helps me build rapport with participants.
- My participants often describe me as calm, cheerful, compassionate, dedicated, engaging, innovative, kind, organised, proactive, respectful, thoughtful and trustworthy, reflecting my commitment to creating a supportive environment.
What I like most about supporting people:
The main aspect that i enjoy most with working with people with disability is building meaningful relationships and supporting people to feel heard, understood and empowered. I value supporting independence, celebrating small wins, and adapting my approach to meet each person's individual needs. I also believe everyone has a story capturing their experiences, strengths, challenges and goals that shape who they are and I enjoy taking the time to understand the person beyond their disability to provide support that is respectful, individualise and meaningful.
